PRADITA DIRGANTARA SMA (Yogyakarta) –
Director of School Development Pradita Dirgantara, Dwi Agus Yuliantoro, Ph.D and Principal of SMA Pradita Dirgantara, Dr. Yulianto Hadi, M.M. attended the handover ceremony of the Prototype Aircraft 01 (PA-01) N250 Gatotkaca at the Mandala Dirgantara Museum (Muspusdirla) Yogyakarta, Wednesday (26/8/2020). In the event, PT. Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) handed over the Gatotkaca PA-01 N250 aircraft to complete the Yogyakarta Muspusdirla collection. This submission is a follow-up to the Decree of the Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Air Force (SKEP) Number 284 / VIII / 2020 dated August 14, 2020 concerning the Assignment of Grant Receipt of PTDI’s PA-01 N250 Aircraft to be placed at Muspusdirla Yogyakarta.
The inauguration of the handover of the plane PA-01 N250 Gatotkaca was delivered directly by the TNI Commander, Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto S.I.P, Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Air Force, accompanied by Marshal Fadjar Prasetyo, S.E., M.P.P., President Director of PTDI and officials within the Indonesian Air Force and PTDI.
Principal of SMA Pradita Dirgantara Boyolali, Dr. Yulianto Hadi, M.M. said that the presence of the N250 aircraft at the Yogyakarta Muspusdirla was part of an effort to provide opportunities for the public to find out the greatness of the nation’s children.
“The transfer of the PA-01 N250 Gatotkaca aircraft to the museum was carried out so that the aircraft, which is part of the great history of the Indonesian nation, can be widely seen by the public. Starting from here it is hoped that more and more young Habibie-Habibie will appear to work, “explained Dr. Yulianto.
Dr. Yulianto added that the handover of PA-01 N250 Gatotkaca to the Yogyakarta Muspusdirla is a form of safeguarding state assets because it has high historical value and is the history of the establishment of the aerospace industry. That way the public can see the PA-01 N250 Gatotkaca Airplane directly at the Museum, as well as being an educational and motivational event for the nation’s successors.
Before the Gatotkaca N250 PA01 aircraft was brought to Muspusdirla Yogyakarta, PTDI had already carried out the process of dismantling the aircraft, starting with opening all the access panels in the main part, be it the engine, propeller, and the main structures of the N250 aircraft such as the body, wing and vertical stabilizer. The implementation of demolition prioritizes safety, both personnel and equipment used. This was done so that the parts of the aircraft structure that were dismantled were not damaged until later they were reinstalled in Yogyakarta.
The PA-01 N250 aircraft is a turboprop aircraft that uses the latest technology, including a fly by wire system, a full glass cockpit with Engine Instrument and Crew Alerting System (EICAS), engine control with Full Autorithy Digital Engine Control (FADEC), electrical power system with Variable Speed Constant Frequency (VSCF) generator commonly used in fighter aircraft and at that time was only applied to the B737-500.
In 1989 BJ Habibie introduced the N-250 at the Paris Airshow Le Bourget Paris. The N250 aircraft designed by Indonesian sons and daughters amazed many people because it had implemented so many cutting-edge technologies. In 1992, the N250 aircraft entered the production stage which was marked by pressing the spindle of a computer numerical control machine (CNC) to make the first cutting of material for the wing in the Fabrication hangar (Aerostructure) by IPTN President Director, BJ Habibie. On November 10, 1994, the prototype PA-01 N250 Gatotkaca with a capacity of 50 passengers left the hangar (roll-out) and was withdrawn by 50 employees of the Nusantara Aircraft Industry (IPTN).
Gatotkaca is the name given by President Soeharto for the first prototype PA-01 N250. After that he named the next three N250 prototypes built with a capacity of 70 passengers, namely Krincingwesi, Koconegoro and Putut Guritno.
On August 10, 1995, aircraft PA-01 N250 Gatotkaca with PK-XNG registration successfully made its first flight attended by President Soeharto and Vice President, Try Sutrisno. The success of the first flight of the PA-01 N250 on August 10, 1995, is designated as National Technology Awakening Day (Hakteknas) which is celebrated every year. (PR of SMA Pradita Dirgantara) *
